With pain, fun and the will to win the triple: Jack Jordan

Jack Jordan of New Zealand seen during the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® World Championship 2024 in Toulouse, France on November 8, 2024.

Hard training, perseverance and the will to keep improving – these are the ingredients for Jack Jordan’s success. In 2024, the New Zealander once again proved that he belongs in the absolute world elite: for the third time in a row, he won the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® World Trophy and also secured the runner up World Championship title in the same year. 2025 saw his greatest success to date: Jack Jordan won the World Championship in Milan. But despite all the titles, he remains modest. Winning and having fun are the two biggest drivers for the New Zealander. He is willing to accept a little pain for this.

What is your job?
I am a farmer working on our 4,000 hectare sheep and cattle farm. The farm is family owned and I love working there. There is always something to do.

What discipline is your personal strength and why?
It’s clear: the Underhand Chop. It's the discipline I've been training for the longest and the one I enjoy the most.

What motivated you to take part in STIHL TIMBERSPORTS®?
My older brother Shane took part in agricultural shows as a child, and I went to watch him every weekend. At some point, it got to me too. I’ve been doing this for 14 or 15 years now. Being on the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® stage today and competing with the best in the world is a real privilege – and a great opportunity to travel.

Is there a special moment in your STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® career that you will never forget?
My first World Trophy win was a huge moment for me. But winning three times in a row is something very special.

Do you have a goal for your STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® career?
I wouldn't mind defending my title again. But basically it’s about what has always driven me: winning and having fun.
