Milan is made for big events: After the World Trophy was held in the northern Italian region of Lombardy in 2024, the biggest competition of the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® season is coming to Italy for the first time this year. On October 24 and 25, the national champions from three continents will compete in the individual world championship in sports wood felling. The 20th edition of the TIMBERSPORTS® World Championships will take place in the Allianz Cloud Arena.
Individual World Championships - October 25, 2025
There could be a new individual world championship on October 25, 2025. However, who has the chance to win the title will only be revealed over the course of the season. Only those who win the respective national title will have the chance to represent their colors in Milan. The champions from the overseas nations Canada, USA, Australia and New Zealand are seeded. In Europe, the top eight plus host nation Italy will qualify.
The twelve athletes collect points in each round. The aim each time is to work on the wood as quickly as possible. After three disciplines, the four athletes with the fewest points are eliminated. After the single buck and the springboard, the field of participants is once again decimated by four men. In the end, only the four best show their skills in the supreme discipline of Hot Saw. Whoever prevails in all three rounds and has collected the most points through fast times will become the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Individual World Champion 2025.
