Italy’s Andrea Rossi will be aiming to impress in front of his home crowd after receiving a wildcard entry to the 2024 World Trophy.

The 2024 World Trophy will be staged against a stunning backdrop of skyscrapers in Milan’s cutting-edge CityLife Quarter, as the city famous for high-end fashion gives way to the power, noise and intensity of The Original Extreme Sport. The pinnacle event of the extremely challenging TIMBERSPORTS® Trophy competition format will be preceded by the 2024 Rookie World Championship. Tickets for the event are now on sale at an Early Bird price.

The World Trophy will feature the 16 highest ranking TIMBERSPORTS® athletes in this competition format from around the world, who will go head-to-head in a series of knockout match-ups. In each match-up, athletes will have to complete four disciplines back-to-back: Stock Saw, Underhand Chop, Single Buck and Standing Block Chop. The fastest athlete from each match-up will progress to the next round, culminating in a grand final between the last two remaining competitors, where the winner will be crowned the TIMBERSPORTS® World Trophy Champion.

World’s elite logger athletes ready to carve up Milan
A highly competitive field of 16 elite logger sports athletes is expected to line up for the event, with the 10 best Europeans from last year’s European Trophy accompanied by the best athlete from each of Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA. Two wildcards will also be nominated to compete, with one going to the host nation’s Andrea Rossi, the highest-placing Italian athlete from last year’s European Trophy.

The 2024 Rookie World Championship will kick off the day of high-octane wood chopping and sawing, featuring 12 of the best newcomers to the sport under the age of 25 in a three-round competition across five disciplines: the Underhand Chop, Stock Saw, the Standing Block Chop, Single Buck and Springboard.

The World Trophy took place in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, last year with New Zealand’s Jack Jordan defending his 2022 crown by defeating Poland’s Michał Dubicki by a whisker in an incredible final in the remarkable ‘Onderzeebootloods’ in the Port of Rotterdam.
