STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® has today confirmed a full schedule of national and international events, as The Original Extreme Sport ‘saws’ back into ‘axe-tion’ in 2023.
The international season will kick off on the weekend of 9th June with the fan favourite event, the World Trophy. The tournament will provide the world’s top logger sportsmen with the opportunity to become the number one TIMBERSPORTS® athlete in the highly competitive Trophy format. The Rookie World Championship and the International Women Cup – which made its debut last season - will take place across the same weekend, with all three events taking place at the remarkable Onderzeebootloods, an historical submarine shipyard in the Port of Rotterdam.
Welcome return of the European Trophy and European Nations Cup
With fans hardly able to draw breath following the World Trophy in June, the European Trophy will land in Poznan, Poland on the final weekend of July, with the continent’s leading athletes in the Trophy format going head-to-head in pursuit of qualification for the 2024 World Trophy.
Bookending a summer of insane extreme sports action is the European Nations Cup on Sunday 3rd September. Staged this year in Seefeld, Austria, the competition sees each participating nation send a selection of Pro and Rookie athletes to determine the premier TIMBERSPORTS® country in Europe.
International season to culminate with World Championships in Germany
The headline event of the TIMBERSPORTS® season, the Team and Individual World Championships, will take place in Stuttgart, Germany, on 3rd-4th November. Held at the Stuttgart Porsche-Arena, the supercharged weekend will kick off with the Team World Championship on Friday 3rd November before the solo athletes take centre stage with the Individual World Championship on Saturday 4th. Both competitions will bring together the very best international athletes and teams to battle it out for world supremacy in The Original Extreme Sport.
National seasons up and running
The national seasons are already underway, with the Australian Trophy and Women’s Championship and the New Zealand Pro, Rookie and Women’s Championships taking place in March and will continue around the globe until October.
