On June 7, the 2025 Nordic Championship in the extreme sport TIMBERSPORTS® will take place at the Elmia Wood fair, in Jönköping, Sweden. The Nordic region’s top athletes will gather to battle for the title in each competition class. In the Pro category, Sweden’s Ferry Svan and Emil Hansson are expected to go head-to-head for the gold medal — and a secure a spot at the World Championships in Milan.
In recent years, Ferry Svan and Emil Hansson have fought for the prestigious title of Nordic Champion. Last year, it was Svan who came out on top. As the 2025 season kicks off with the Nordic Championship, the two top athletes are once again expected to fight for first place. The Pro class winner will represent Sweden in the Individual World Championship in Milan on October 25th. The silver medalist will earn a place in the Team World Championship.
“The goal is clear – I want to defend the title and take the gold. That would also secure my spot at the World Championship, which I’m really aiming for. Although my pre-season has looked a little different this year, my form feels surprisingly strong, so I’m really looking forward to competing,” says Ferry Svan.
International Guests in the Women's Competition
In the Rookie category, Swedish and Norwegian athletes will battle it out against Danish favorite Bo Andersen. In the Women’s category, Sweden’s Tove Njåstad and Åsa Nordberg will compete for the title, but the women’s event will also welcome top athletes from the USA and Canada — part of the TIMBERSPORTS® international exchange program.
On June 7th, Nordic Champions will be crowned in three classes: Pro, Rookie, and Women. Athletes from Sweden, Norway, and Denmark will compete in both men’s and women’s divisions. After the championship, two smaller Nordic events will follow, along with the international European Trophy 2025 in the Netherlands — all leading up to the season’s grand finale: the World Championships in Milan on October 24–25.
