The sports city of Essen will be enriched by an extreme sports highlight in 2023: On 30 September and 1 October, Germany's best sports lumberjacks will come to Seaside Beach Baldeneysee in Essen to compete for the title of STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® German Champion 2023 in three performance categories. 

On Saturday, 30 September, the young athletes will also take up axe and saw. Germany's "elite of tomorrow" will complete five disciplines. Points will be awarded according to the placings in each discipline. Whoever has collected the most points at the end of the competition is the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® German Newcomer Champion 2023.
