Champion again: Michał Dubicki successfully defended his European Trophy title in Lage Vuursche, Netherlands, battling through four intense head-to-head duels to take the crown.

Poland’s Michał Dubicki was this weekend crowned the 2025 STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® European Trophy Champion, retaining last year’s title and solidifying his position as one of the world’s best logger sports athletes. The Pole built on last year’s victory with another commanding performance, this time overcoming Czech prodigy, Matyáš Klíma, in the Final. Dutch home favourite, Redmer Knol, delighted the crowd in Lage Vuursche with a bronze medal finish, while Sweden’s Ferry Svan narrowly missed out on the podium in fourth.

Dubicki lifted his second consecutive European title in front of an electric crowd in Lage Vuursche, Netherlands securing his qualification for next year’s World Trophy in the process. The event saw 16 of Europe’s best logger sports athletes go head-to-head to crown a European champion, whilst also doubling up as the continent’s qualifier for the 2026 World Trophy.

Dubicki delivers again to retain the crown
Dubicki was fastest in the Time Trial, setting a time of 1:04:86, improving round-on round until the final in yet another dominant tournament for the Pole. He set a time of 1:02:43 in the Round of 16, defeating Austria’s Armin Kugler, with his time beaten only by Poland’s Simon Groenwald, who set a time of 59.78. Dubicki then turned up the heat in the Quarter Final, beating Germany’s Danny Martin with a time of 1:01:00, with only eventual finalist Matyáš Klíma able to beat him on this occasion with a fantastic time of 58.96, a national record for the Czech Republic.

Dubicki saved his best for the Semi Final, beating home-favourite Redmer Knol with a time of 58.15, with Klíma’s time of 1:05:02 in the other semi-final enough to secure him a place in this year’s final. Dubicki then set a time of 1:04:78 in the final, which despite being his slowest score since the Time Trial, was enough to beat Klíma’s 1:07:47 and crown him European champion for the second time in a row, and a fourth time overall.

Klíma’s silver marks another milestone in breakthrough run
Czech star, Matyáš Klíma, made it three consecutive European Trophy podiums in a row with his latest finish, though this year’s performance was enough to improve on the bronze medal he secured at the previous two competitions. The Czech secured a time of 1:09:58 in his opening Time Trial, before defeating Great Britain’s Glen Penlington in the Round of 16 with a time of 1:08:28, Sweden’s Emil Hansson in the Quarter Final with a time of 58.67, and last year’s silver medallist, Ferry Svan, in the Semi-Final with a time of 1:05:02. Still just in the early stages of his senior career, Klíma once again proved his potential against Europe’s elite.

Dutch joy as Knol secures bronze
The biggest cheers of the day came in the Small Final, where local hero Redmer Knol clinched bronze with a strong performance to defeat Sweden’s Ferry Svan.
