Can any teams finally stop the Chopperoos?
The 2025 Team World Championship will kick off proceedings on Friday 24th October. The national teams will go head-to-head against each other in a knockout format with four athletes from each nation completing the four iconic TIMBERSPORTS® disciplines: Stock Saw, Single Buck, Underhand Chop and Standing Block Chop.
The question on everyone’s lips will be: who can stop the mighty Chopperoos? Team Australia recently claimed an unprecedented fifth consecutive world title and their ninth overall, with their incredible production line of logger sports talent showing no signs of slowing down.
A return winner or a new pretender in the individual stakes?
The Individual World Championship will take place on Saturday 25th October and see the world’s top 12 athletes duke it out in all six TIMBERSPORTS® disciplines in a three-round elimination format. In each discipline, the competitors will accumulate points based on the time it takes them to slash through their blocks, with the lowest ranked athletes eliminated at the end of each round. After the three rounds, the athlete with the most points will be proclaimed the 2025 Individual World Champion.
Throughout the 2025 season, the leading individual athletes will aim to qualify for the season’s pinnacle event, with the national champions of Australia, United States, Canada, and New Zealand, competing against the eight best national champions from Europe. As the individual athlete representing the host nation, the Italian national champion will be guaranteed a spot. 2024 saw a new world champion as Nate Hodges rose highest in an open field featuring no previous champions. The American topped the podium ahead of New Zealand’s Jack Jordan and Canada’s Ben Cumberland.
