STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® and LIEBHERR renew cooperation agreement

The extreme sports series STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® is renewing its cooperation with LIEBHERR and can thus continue to rely on a strong partner in the elite logger sports series. LIEBHERR has already been at the side of TIMBERSPORTS® since 2012, supporting the international World Trophy competitions as well as the Individual, Team and Rookie World Championships. This partnership will now be continued and expanded until 2023 – a clear commitment, especially in view of the current pandemic situation.

STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® and LIEBHERR renew their strong cooperation until 2023: The company, which is one of the largest construction machinery manufacturers in the world, has supported the extreme sports series since 2012 as the main sponsor of the TIMBERSPORTS® Individual and Team World Championships. In addition to sponsoring the season finale of the extreme sports series, LIEBHERR will continue to take the opportunity to attend the spectacular events together with customers and business partners while presenting its latest Liebherr machines.

"The decision to extend our commitment was easy for us: TIMBERSPORTS® is a perfect fit for us. Here, as with LIEBHERR, it's all about high performance and technical precision. The competitions themselves are thrilling sporting highlights, packed with emotion. Anyone who has ever followed a TIMBERSPORTS® event or even been there live knows what I am talking about. Not least because of the international reach, we clearly benefit from this positive brand identification in the public. We have clearly observed this over the past few years. In addition, a relationship of trust has developed with STIHL over the past years that allows us to continue on this path together in the current situation. We are proud to be part of the TIMBERSPORTS® series", says Joachim Strobel, Managing Director Sales of the Earthmoving Division at the LIEBHERR Group.

The title sponsor STIHL also considers the cooperation an unqualified success: "The fact that LIEBHERR has confirmed its partnership with STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® is a sign of recognition for us. Especially now: The past year has shaken the world; the sports and event sector also suffered from the pandemic. The commitment to STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® shows once again how close we feel in terms of origin and philosophy: as a family business with long traditions and strong roots, and as a manufacturer of technically high-quality machines. And that gives us power: together with strong partners like LIEBHERR, we have expanded and developed the Series in recent years. Millions of fans all over the world look forward to the events and perceive both brands very positively in this context. We now want to and will continue this path side by side," says Norbert Pick, Executive Board Member Marketing and Sales at STIHL.

STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® season 2021 again under special auspices
After no competitions with intercontinental participation were held last year, the 2021 season is set to return to the classic international highlights with the European Trophy and the Individual World Championship, among others. The European Trophy 2021, which is to be held on 31 July at the Motorworld Munich, also means a return to the nerve-racking knockout format: Europe's best logger athletes will compete in four disciplines at once in duels to finally crown the European champion of this format. In addition to the European Trophy, the Rookie European Championship will take place on the same date, where the best young athletes on the continent will meet. The competitions, which will not be open to the public, will replace the World Trophy and the Rookie World Championship in 2021, which will not take place due to possible intercontinental travel restrictions. The grand season finale will then take place again on 2 October at Motorworld Munich: At the Individual World Championship, the best logger sports athletes in the world will fight for the TIMBERSPORTS® crown in 2021. A Team World Championship will be refrained from in view of the Corona pandemic.
