It's getting hot in Marseille! The most thrilling STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® competition - the Champions Trophy - and the Rookie World Championship are coming to the beautiful harbour of Marseille, France, on May 26th. The world's eight best athletes will show their impressive skills in one-on-one duels. We'll get the harbour city of Marseille cooking – for sure!
Competing for France will be the national Champion of 2017, Pierre Puybaret from the region Rhone-Alpes. Puybaret has several national titles as well as five of six possible national discipline records to his name.
At the 2017 Individual World Championship he took a good sixth place. The Frenchman has his eyes firmly set on a strong performance at the Champions Trophy in Marseille: "I always look forward to testing myself against other athletes. Everyone competing will be in great shape, both physically and mentally. Of course, performing in Front of a home crowd will give me that extra bit of motivation.
Among those competing at the Champions Trophy in Marseille will also be the reigning and record-holding world champion Jason Wynyard.
The New Zealander, one of the sport's outstanding athletes, is looking forward to the first international competition of the season.

Alongside with the Champions Trophy, the Rookie World Championship will take place in the same venue. The world's best up-and-coming logger sports athletes from all over the world will go head-to-head in Marseille. Representing France will be 20-year-old Lucas Schott.
