Today, Ben Cumberland wins the second edition of the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Rookie World Championship in the Austrian Alps, overlooking the city of St. Johann in Tyrol. The Canadian athlete showed a consistently high performance in all four disciplines, Especially the Standing Block Chop axe discipline which he completed in an incredible time. After a rough start with the Chain Saw event, the Australian Andrew Kelly showed a good performance on the one-man Single buck SAW, in the Underhand axe chop and obtained the silver medal. The US-athlete Ben Kniceley won the bronze medal. He defeated his competitors in Standing Block Chop and Single Buck. The Austrian local hero Michael Neuschitzer finished in seventh place.
